Terms of service

Last updated: this version applies from launch.

1. About us

Find A Trade Local operates findatradelocal.com, an online marketplace that introduces customers to independent tradespeople in the United Kingdom.

2. Our role

We are an introduction service only. We do not employ, supervise or subcontract tradespeople, and we are not party to any contract agreed between a customer and a tradesperson.

3. Customer accounts

Posting a job is free. You must provide accurate information about the work required and your contact details, and you must have the authority to commission the work.

4. Tradesperson accounts and lead purchases

Tradespeople pay a lead fee to unlock a customer's contact details for a specific job. The price and VAT are displayed before payment. Payment is taken at the point of purchase and the lead unlocks immediately.

5. Refunds

Lead fees are refundable where a lead is invalid, such as incorrect contact details, a duplicate posting, or a job the customer did not actually request. Requests must be raised within 14 days of purchase and are reviewed case by case.

6. Verification

Verification badges reflect checks completed at a point in time and are not a guarantee of ongoing status, competence or workmanship. Customers should always carry out their own checks.

7. Reviews

Reviews may only be left by customers about tradespeople who expressed interest in their job. Reviews must be honest, based on genuine experience, and must not contain unlawful, abusive or personally identifying content.

8. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the platform, scrape data, post misleading job listings, harass other users, or attempt to circumvent lead fees by soliciting contact details outside the platform.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of any customer or tradesperson, or for any loss arising from work agreed between them. Nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will publish the current version on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
