How long does new plaster take to dry?
Usually 3–7 days depending on thickness, ventilation and time of year. It should be uniformly light before you paint, and the first coat should be a watered-down mist coat.
Can artex be plastered over?
Yes, if it is sound and not asbestos-containing. Pre-2000 artex may contain asbestos and should be tested before anyone scrapes or sands it.
